
Emily is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Art Therapist, and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. She provides individual therapy for adolescent and adult clients (ages sixteen and older). She is trained as a Master Certified accelerated resolution therapist and Creative Arts Therapist. Emily specializes in the treatment of complex trauma. As well as phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder, grief and loss, anxiety, stress related to COVID-19, and more. Emily is an LGBTQIA+ ally, body positive, and humanistic therapist; who supports individual choice and self-expression.
When working with Emily expect a warm, down to earth, judgment-free environment; in addition to the occasional dose of humor. She believes that individuals are the expert of their lives and that her job is to help clients achieve their goals by utilizing a strengths-based, relational approach to therapy. Emily graduated from the University of Minnesota with an undergraduate degree in Art History and subsequently went on to earn her master’s degree in counseling psychology and Art Therapy from The Adler Graduate School. She has worked as a therapist in emergency shelters, schools, outpatient clinics, and community centers. She considers it an honor to facilitate emotional wellness, growth, and connection in others.
Outside of her work as a therapist, Emily enjoys traveling, tattoos, and the creative process. In addition, she aspires to reduce mental health stigma in her community.
